Setting up mach3
« on: March 18, 2008, 10:18:46 AM »
Hello. I have four little six wired step motors with these M109 modules and M108 interface switch to connect them to printer port in motherboard (0x378 i suppose). There came small program with the modules that i can run motors with just fine but i havent got Mach3 working yet.

Here is picture of my ports and pins section. I have disabled e-stop but it didnt help.

Is there some larger tutorial that would contain information about each and every setting?

You need to contact the supplier of the interface and get the pin outs for the M108, it may not work the same way as Mach3.

You may have to set the pins different and also 1 pin may be an enable signal.

Thanks matey. However i accidentaly got the motors working by enabling "Max cl mode". Any clue what it stands for? I also needed to take dir low active off... have no idea what that means either. Step low active had something to do with opto isolation eh?

I guess ill just need to start get familiar with cam programs now...

I now have two motors on x-axis but i dont know how to change another motors rotation direction? I suppose this is possible to do with mach3 so that i dont have to re-wire slave motor again?
