Hello Iam new to this but I have a project. It is a acroloc vmc with the above controller. What I would like to do control the inverter section directly and and get rid of some old and propriatory electronics.I know the inverters take a pwm signal. My problem is the interface is a 16 pin two row connecter and I dont have a clue which pin is what.the siemens website has zip.does anyone have any info on this . or is there a way to identify pin function thankyou AL

If you Google the drive, there are a couple of repair firms that come up listing this drive in the UK.

A telephone call to them might help you.
Not me driving the engine - I'm better looking.

http://www.automation.siemens.com/mc/mc-sol/en/7aab0fee-045e-40fe-9b52-23775e507830/index.aspx  this is for stepper feed axes and one analog spindle

http://www.automation.siemens.com/mc/mc-sol/en/df36a07d-441c-4444-819c-e7ba5a041196/index.aspx  servo feed axes and one analog spindle

best thing is complete package new motors, drivers and terminal and then you can use back cabinet for books.

Good Idea but It only goes back to the 611 series mine is a 610. I did talk to siemens about this one and they believed it cold be done with some additional dac's. But there policy of no information and relying on closers.turned me pretty cold.I did find the pinout for the inverters, but it looks like they require a pwm for each phase (ac servos)So I'll have hack it somewhere else. The bookshelf Idea Is also good but the rest of the machine hard wire is in there.I just had a brain flash.I am thinking of useing small drives as a preamp to get the three pulses if I can find one that outputs pwm. thankyou I am open to any suggestions Al
