Curves come in as lines
« on: January 14, 2008, 10:09:26 AM »
I updated to the latest version of lazycam (yeah, I know) and it seems I may have something set incorrectly.

This was from an older version, nice curve.

And this is from the lastest 3.00.02 version, not a nice curve but lines!

Any help would be great!

Dan

Dan,
That's exactly what I get when trying to clean/convert a spline.
LCam doesn't know what to do with them.
How did you get it to work in the older version ?
I'd like to find a way to convert a spline into something that LC can use. In AutoCad maybe ?
Good luck,
RC

Greetings, I've had some level of success converting these lines into polylines. When that doesn't work, I have to trace over the curves with a series of short straight lines... and that usually solves it. By the way, I've reverted back to LazyCAM 2.02. I can't get 3 to pocket and offset correctly all the time (as in when I really need it to). Hope this helps.

This is a loading error and we are working with the company that we license the file importing from .... We have new code that seems to be working better now... Hope to have an update soon!

Thanks

THANKS RC

well i did the same filter move with the polyline as i did a couple of corel dxfs. and i 'll be danged -- converted to a dxf that l-cam can use. this looks like a pretty good workaround
while we wait on the next release of l-cam. all i did was a simple open then export with cambam.

Thanks for the info, bill.

RC, what is the ruler function you're using in the screenshot?
