CNC plasma Mach 3 torch height controller issues
« on: June 23, 2026, 01:30:13 AM »
Hello,

I'm helping a friend set up a used Premier Plasma CNC table equipped with a Proma 150 torch height controller. I believe everything is wired correctly, but when we received the machine, I didn't see any wiring for an "Arc OK" signal.

When attempting to cut with the THC enabled, the torch fires, then the machine pauses for about 8 seconds after the M3 command before timing out. I also noticed that the pigtail cable supplied for the Hypertherm 45XP only contains four wires—two for torch on/off control and two for the voltage feedback going to the THC.

In Mach3, pin 10 on the breakout board appears to be assigned to "Torch On," but there is no wire connected to pin 10 on the breakout board.

Could the missing Arc OK signal be causing the issue? Any advice or troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The "Arc OK" comes from the Proma 150's output connector.

On the Proma it is labeled just "ARC" and is on the same connector as the "UP" and "DWN" signals.
