Loosing steps Mach3 (old Version)
« on: November 03, 2023, 08:15:10 AM »
Hi, iam from germany. Sorry in advance for my bad english.
I have a cnc Machine already since 2016. The machine works great until i spend a relais to my cnc spindlemotor.
Since i build in the relais to control the milling spindle through gcode i loosing steps. And i dont know why.

The controlling of the axis in manualmode is also not that precise anymore if i load a huge gcode.
If i moving the axis i have a delay. It means, i push the arrowbuttons to move the axis, the axis dont stop right away.
It stops ~ 0,5seconds later. Its like lagging.

If i didnt load a gcode the controlling with the arrowbuttons at the keyboard is precise. The axis stops right away.

I hope someone can help me. thank u and best regards Marc

Hi Marc,

Under the Operator tab run Check Config...
This will tell you if you have any conflict of pins in your new set-up.

Hi Marc,

When using Check Config... you should get a Notepad display of any possible conflicts. Perhaps it is hidden behind the Mach screen ?

There are some issues with the Mach3 version .066 which you are using and Artsoft recommend the modified version (.062) be downloaded from their website and loaded over the top of the existing version. Make a secure backup of your existing Mach3 folder just in case. This post refers: https://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=37291.msg255042#msg255042

The recommended version of Mach3 can be downloaded from here;

If you attach your <your profile>.xml file (from the Mach3 folder) I will check your settings. You will need to rename the .xml file to something unique (perhaps marc.xml) in order to be able to attach it to your posting.

I don’t have a PC here with a Parallel Port so cannot test your set-up on an actual machine until Monday.

In the meantime a couple of things for you to try – make just one change at a time to see if it makes a difference (You may need to restart Mach3 for any changes to take effect).

Disconnect your Shuttle while testing.
If you are using a wireless keyboard then this can affect things – use a wired keyboard.

1) Disable Charge Pump 2 (this is specifying Pin12 which is not an Output).
2) Try reducing your Kernel Speed to 35000 and re-tune your motors.
3) Increase your Acceleration in Motor Tuning to 600.

I will have further information on Monday.
