Problem with extra Parrallelports
« on: April 12, 2006, 07:31:33 AM »
Hi!

I have problems with i Parrallelcard that I have bought. It contains 2 ports and I want to use that for all cnc-control. I have a working machine now that I run from the computers builtin parrallel port.

I cant find which portadress to use. When I check the card it uses I/O BC00-BC07, B800-B807, B400-B407, B000-B007,AC00-AC07, A800-A80F.
The adresses isnt changeable and the ports are configured as LPT2 and 3 and ECP.

The card is a VScom PC1021H-EP2.

Is it even possible to use this card with mach and if it isnt what card should I buy that works?

Thanx!

David Larsson

Hello Dave,
All you have to do is type in one of the BC00-BC07, B800-B807, B400-B407, B000-B007,AC00-AC07, A800-A80 into the ports  in Mach3. You will have to test each one to figure out what one is going to work

Is it that easy? Well thanx I´ll do that!
Just thought that it wouldnt work cause it suddenly got 4 after the 0x...

Just wanna give Art a big "thank you" for the program! I´ll convince my boss that we need a full version of this so that you get payed for your hard work! I have converted an old Cortini mill from 2D to 3D on just 2days thanx to your program!

Hi again!

Well I´m sorry to say that it didnt work. I tried every adress that where in the config and I got some response from the machine at one adress but it didnt move. The response I got was in form of when I pressed a button that should move one axel the machine sounded different. But it didnt move.

And a question thats of topic... Is it on g-rex 101 possible to run the spindle with one of the analog outputs? My spindle needs a signal that differs betwen 0-6V depending on what rpm you need. If it works I will consider buying a g-rex instead cause that will solve all my problems.

Thanx!

/David
