File name display (noob question)
« on: June 28, 2023, 09:49:49 AM »
Hello all.
I use mach 3 on my 3 axis cnc and I have a number of different files I run.
Problem: I cannot see which program I am currently running because the full file path takes up the space in the file name window. For examble: " C":\documents and settings\administrator\ bureaublad\ fol" and thats it. What can I do to make to actual file name visible? Put my g-code in the root folder? Can I tell Mach 3 to align the test right? Use smaller font?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
thanks, Maarten

you can use a screen designer like MachScreen and put a copy of the filetextline into the
bottom aeria and enlarge it over the complete width.
is the easyest way i think.
anything is possible, just try to do it.
if you find some mistakes, in my bad bavarian english, they are yours.

have you used MachScreen to modify your screenset?

https://kd-dietz.com/pages/eng/machscreen/description.html

it is quite simple to use.

Hi, I did try, but I could not find a way to display filename with the Dietz screen designer. Also, it has no tool path display. (that I could find).
Mach3screen is nowhere to be found. Not on my computer and not on the current mach3 download, not on the newfangled site.

Screen4 is an .xml file that I cannot figure out how to get started. So thats why I was looking for an easy solution.

But indeed I would love to have everything I need on one screen in stead of having to switch screens.
regards, Maarten

you have to run download Machscreen and put it into a folder.

then run Machscreen
then ->File ->open file -> C:\Mach3\1024.set (if you use standard screenset)
now can see page 1 from screenset.
select the filedisplay textbox and shift it to the bottom
expand it to the comple width
save file
done

there are also a lot tutorials on youtube.
for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9qYrQlYS8I

Mach3 screen designers can be downloaded from the bottom of this page;
