Control PoKeys57cnc built-in relays from Mach 4
« on: December 25, 2022, 03:24:02 PM »
Finally getting around to trying to switch a router on and off from Mach 4.
The PoKeys57cnc has 2 built-in relays.
I cannot seem to find a way to enable/disable these relays from Mach4.
I want to use the built-in relay to switch power to a larger relay to switch power to a router.
I have an external 18vdc power supply to run the PoKeys57cnc board (better than USB alone)
Passing that 18vdc through the relay 1 terminals to the large external relay to handle the 120vac.
Have been all through Control Configuration and PoKeys plugin configuration with no success.
Found a YouTube video showing how to do this in Mach 3 that made it look easy.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Oh. And Merry Christmas everyone!

OK. Made a little progress!
Configure > Control > Output Signals (tab)
Enabled #10 & 11, Device PoKeys_42701 PE, Output Names Relay 1 & 2.
Now need to figure out how to trigger #10...
Would be nice to map it to the Spindle CW / Stop (M03 - M05) button functionality, then I could add M3 and M5 commands in my G Code.

Unrelated question...
I attached a screenshot to the previous reply, but I don't see it, nor do I see a way to view it.
How do look at attached files on this forum?

Cheers!
Matt

Update:
Scrolling down the Output Signals list in the previously mentioned Mach 4 Control Configuration, I saw "Spindle On" as a choice. So I moved the output mapping from "Output #10" to "Spindle On". Still need help getting this mapped to the "Spindle CW / Stop" button on the "Program Run" screen.

And thanks for the link to info about adding files @Tweakie.CNC.

More info:
The Mach 4 Output Wizard shows me I'm on the right track.
I can successfully trigger Relay 1 from the Output Test.

Got it working as desired.
