Is there an M06 macro with G43 height compensation?
« on: November 26, 2022, 04:05:56 PM »
Hi, I'm using a translator.
Is there an M06 macro that uses the spindle nose as zero?
all subsequent tools will refer to that zero point and with G43 H... the correct measurement will always be obtained.
I use Mach4 on the lathe (with a CsLab)
now I would like to use it on the pantograph (with the Smooth Stepper ethernet).
on the mill I use Rosetta CNC, and I use that G43 H system ... with success.
if it can be useful I put the link to have at least an idea of what I would need.

I would like to use the same system also with Mach4.
thanks!

I try to formulate the question differently.
What do you use for Auto Tool Zero?
1-let's say the classic method is to measure the current tool, and then make the difference with the next one.
this method is the simplest, but in case of tool breakage the piece zero is lost.
2-in my opinion the best thing is to use the spindle nose (empty) as a fixed reference.
each subsequent tool will refer to it and G43 H will be used....
Is there already a macro similar to point 2?
