Encoder in Mach4 for Tapping
« on: June 10, 2023, 06:49:01 AM »
Hello from Germany,

I have following questions:

How do I configure an encoder for tapping on a lathe in Mach 4 with ESS?
I just don't get any values! I can continuously adjust the spindle speed via G-code or input in Mach 4.

I hope someone can help me
greeting
Bernd

The threading is controlled by the motion controller Mach4 just sends it a threading command and it sorts out the detail.

Without engineers the world stops

Hello and thank you for your answer,
I've attached a log file showing what happens when I run a threaded program
The spindle speed is displayed correctly in the ESS and in Mach4 except for a few revolutions
But Mach 4 stops and can only be used again after a restart

Hallo,

I cut threads with a compensating chuck. This works quite well so far but if I read that correctly it doesn't work at all for you??

Ich schneide Gewinde mit einem Ausgleichsfutter. Das funktioniert so weit ganz gut aber wenn ich das richtig gelesen habe geht es bei Dir gar nicht??
