Activating new limit switches on mach3/Gecko G540 CNC router
« on: December 05, 2023, 08:50:11 PM »
I am up the point where I can rout some basic code samples with more calibration yet to do. Before playing too much, I wanted limit switches to avoid crashes. I have installed them, two in series on each axis. Each series circuit uses terminal 1 ,2 or 3 (x,y and z) with the other end to ground. The switches are NC (normally closed) so each circuit should have a signal while the unit is running. if a switch is hit it should trigger a E-stop. But it doesn’t. Tripping a switch doesn’t stop drives or spindle. Is there a setting or settings that will active my Limit switches?

You need to set-up your limit switches in Config / Ports & Pins / Input Signals (Enabled, Port#, Pin Number, Active low) for each axis.
