Y axis stop work properly
« on: June 18, 2021, 05:36:06 AM »
Recently we had a problem with our CNC. One of the step motors (for X axis we'd 2 motors, one each side) stop work properly. We tried to pull a bit by hand and after that I ordered the machine to move again and I had smell something different. Imidiatly I stopped and checked a little smoke in between cable (RS232 DB9 serial port) union that connect to motor.
After that I tried to connect a cable from a "good" motor to the motor that failed. And the motor works. So everything ok with motor. Then I thought about some board fail. I switch motor driver (black board box) between correspondent motor fail and other motor, and works properly. So no sign of motor driver fault.
Til now only main Mach3 Board Interface and Mach3 software left. I checked Mach3 software manual, cheked several time Ports & Pins and everything seems in correct position. I don't have more input pins then I can have to, don't have any control pins that I can have to, everything seems ok.

Does anyone have any suggestion for this problem?
