Problems with A-Axis
« on: June 03, 2021, 03:29:52 PM »
Hey,
I have a problem with my A-Axis (again...).
Maybe someone can help me, because I dont understand it:
When I tell my Axis in the beginning to move from 10° to 350° its going the short way (10->0->350 and the other way around too).
But as soon as I have more movements (small steps from 0 to 350, a example G-Code is attached) and i want to move from 350 to 10° again, the Axis is taking the long way (350->180->10) but as soon as it reached 10°, it does a zero-crossing again to move to 350° and i dont understand that...
Maybe someone can tell me, what setting do I have to change, so it always takes the short way...

Sincerely
Tobias

Just to throw this out there....
Is this a Mach4 Issue or a Motion Controller issue?
Rollover would be for continuous motion on the axis, but would it actually affect the planner and the trajectory of the next move.
This really may be something that would need to be taken care of through the motion controller.

Hey,
Iam using an ESS Smoothstepper.
Iam not sure how i can test it.
At the moment iam doing some other tests. When iam using small incremental movements, i can turn in one direction as long as i want to, but when iam using g90 afterwards, the axis takes a long way before performing zerocrossings again (with G90 and G91 and G0 and G1)
