Zed plunges down after M6 reading.
« on: June 23, 2021, 10:59:23 AM »
Sometimes the Zed will drop just a little bit and sometimes an inch or two when stops at M6 line in G-code. If I have a 1/2 bit in place it will ruin my piece of wood. If I reset the Zed to 0 after the plunge it will do the cutting and then drag over the piece and it cuts a grove in it and ruins the cut.
I have had my Mack3 for a while and not much experience using it beyond some simple cuts like chairs. But now I am trying to cut out parts for violins and I can't get some of them cut out with this problem.
I can turn off everything and reload it and sometimes it will work and sometimes it won't work.
I notice when I am ready to cut my XYZ's are all set to 0 but the DRO's are all red.
I notice in the videos I watch the XYZ's the DRO's are green as the cutting starts. I don't know how to get the green on. Is this my problem?

The red leds will go green after you have homed the machine, the dropping is another issue, could be the steppers powering down or dodgy code in the M6 macro.
