Mach 4 skipping steps
« on: March 28, 2020, 12:31:28 PM »
Hello all, i am new to Mach. I purchased an AVID CNC 4x8' cnc machine. The only thing needed was the assembly. The pack=age had a pre-calibrated Mach 4 for that machine.

Long story, i have checked all cables and tried for hours. I home, use a touch probe for all axis, then start the machine. I am drilling 1/4" holes on a 17" by 97" board. I noticed a few holes in order was miss drilled. So i stop the machine, go to X Y work area, notice where it went was .50 off on X and .20 on Y. This explains the miss-aligned holes. So i home the machine then tell it go to X Y work area ad it is correct. So i send it back to drill.... the same issue and this time it goes to the pre-drilled areas snf makes them oval....this keeps happening.

the first thing I woild do would be get a seperate power feed to the router  as to seperate it from the control cables to eleminate the chance of noise causing a problem then work from there
may or may not clear up the problem but it will check a troubleshooting box

happy hunting
