LazyCAM stopped posting GCode
« on: March 02, 2008, 01:24:22 PM »
I have registered versions of Mach3 and LazyCAM Pro. I was merrily importing DXF files from TurboCAD 12 into LazyCAM, had done so at least a dozen times over the last month, when it just stopped posting the GCode to Mach3 Mill. I've downloaded the latest release versions of both programs but no luck. It's a fairly simple drawing, just circles with center holes, and it imports as a DXF just fine. The .tap files have stopped being generated at all.

I'm really stuck with this and am going to miss a deadline for producing these plastic washers with my router table.

Hi, Scot

Dose your Setup, Posting Option look something like this ?

Post your DXF file, Use the REPLY button then Attach Option.

Some dxf's can have problems, Dose LC Post your earlier dxf's properly ?

Thanks, Chip

Yes, my settings are just like that. I've even tried changing the destination directory to see if it would post .tap files elsewhere. No luck.

I'll attach one of my DXF files. When it stopped posting GCode, it stopped for any file, new or old, even .Lcam files that had worked before.

Hi, Swbogart

I loaded your file it post to mach3 just fine, Well Mach didn't like one line in the code and wouldn't show a view of it.

Are you seeing any code in Mach3 G-code window at all ?

Try this G-code file below, it's got a few problems, skipping some of the holes, just see if it will load.

Thanks, Chip

Hi Scot,
You may want to verify that the LCamĀ  Lic. file is in your Mach3 folder.
RC

Chip, works OK here too.

License file it was! I had it in my download directory. When I installed Mach3, it found my license file there and copied it to the Mach3 directory. I forgot I hadn't moved that one myself.
I just moved the Lazy license to Mach3 and away she goes.

So, I guess it wasn't a waste of money to license LazyCAM Pro after all! I have to tune my chain order but my washers are cutting now!

Thanks a bunch Chip and Overloaded! Glad I found Mach3 and LazyCAM!
