Mach4 strange jog behaviour on a new machine

Gday Everyone
Need some ideas on an odd problem.
New 600*900mm router, running an Ethernet smooth stepper and the demo of mach4 (blown my budget, will purchase!)

All of the basic setup is okay, it has a rough steps per, basic motor accels, ect, and the machine homes really smoothly without a problem, but when i try and jog, either using the keyboard plugin or the onscreen jog keys, the feedrate cuts to zero and back up about every half a second during the move.

It behaves completely normally after each cutout. i would describe the behavior as if i was removing an refitting the drives enable line every half a second or so.

And if i jog 2 axis at the same time, the cutting in and out is synced between the two.

It actually displays this on the feedrate (G01) indicator? and i cant see any issues with hardware. im assuming im missing something basic but im at a bit of a loss...

It also seems to have the same behavior using the mdi to throw basic G1 moves at it.

would welcome some suggestions!
thanks!

so an update,
Changed to a wiped windows 10 machine, and same profile, works perfectly.
Something on my main pc was interrupting the Ethernet connection...
so little wins!
