Override control hardware
« on: September 14, 2019, 12:17:15 AM »
I am looking to add some override knobs to my Mach 4 for Feed, Spindle rpm, and rapid. Is it better to use an encoder of potentiometer type rotating control. What is the best way to wire it and configure in Mach 4?
I am using ESS, and PMDX-126.

Thanks Jeff

Hi,
the ESS does not have an analogue-to-digital converter on board.

In absence of ADC use a rotary encoder, sometime also called a digital potentiometer as an MPG input.
