"UC100 DOES NOT WORK WITH NOTEBOOK WITH WINDOWS 10 64 Bit & WINDOWS 7 x64" was what I read from someone at CNCZONE weeks ago.

All motion controllers should work with a 64 bit OS. It's only the parallel port that will not.

That is a link to a .NET update that needs to be installed when using XP. It's NOT saying that the UC100 is XP only.

Gerry are you running the UNCNC program and interface on Windows 10?

Thank you.

But I was skeptical because the .net version they are using is ONLY version DOTNET 2.0.
Windows XP SP3 supports up to DotNet framework 4.0.
Windows 10 x64 now support up to Dotnet 4.72.

Yes, and Mach3 as well with the UC300-ETH.

XP does not natively support any version of .NET, so it needs to be installed, even for 2.0.

XP does not natively support any version of .NET, so it needs to be installed, even for 2.0.

Windows 10 Creators edition & later (new installations) will preload DOT net framework 4.72 that has an SDK that will not support applications written for DOTNET 2.0 natively anymore.
That is why I was skeptical about UC100 that seems to have software written for the very old DOTNET 2.0.

Dotnet 4.72 must be uninstalled. Dotnet 3.51 enabled at control panel, then Dotnet 4.72 reinstalled offline to get window 10x64 working with DOTNET 2.0 applications.

Again, that's only required for XP. The UC100 was developed many years ago, when almost all users were using XP, and .Net 2 was likely the current version.

You don't have to do anything to use the UC100 in Windows 10, except install the Mach3 plugin.

Personally, I would not buy a UC100 today, unless you want the simplest swap from a parallel port.
Both the UC400ETH and UC300ETH offer far more functionality, and much better noise immunity (due to ethernet), for only a bit more money.

Just didn't work for me for some reason.  The UC100, cnc4pc C83 Isolator Board,C84 Adapter and various cables all bought from cnc4pc.com are packed in the box I got them in from cnc4pc.com, taped shut and placed in the loft of my workshop.

I do appreciate all the help I received from this forum, Mach Support, Arturo Duncan from cnc4pc.com, Jeff at Xylotex Support and the gentleman from CNCDrive.com     Tons of emails back and forth and posts after posts on forums.  I just didn't get it.     I am happy just to get everything going again using the old XP desktop with parallel port.

Thanks everyone,

Ray

"UC100 DOES NOT WORK WITH NOTEBOOK WITH WINDOWS 10 64 Bit & WINDOWS 7 x64" was what I read from someone at CNCZONE weeks ago. He said that only UC300 or UC400 will support x64 OS.
I am still wondering whether that is true.
OR it may be CNCDRIVE's trick to get people to use UCCNC instead of Mach3/Mach4.

"6.) Software prerequirements (install on Win XP only!)"

Perhaps only a cheaper "USB motion controller" from China will work with MACH3 & WINDOWS 10 64 Bit & WINDOWS 7 x64???

Just got the UC100 to Gecko G540 using Mach3 on Microsoft Surface Pro2 running win10 64bit with no issues.  Not gonna be my actual computer to run my machine but wanted to see if it worked.  The only difference I found is that I need to hold the shift key when jogging.  Hope this helps clarify the rumors.
