Mach3 config issues
« on: June 12, 2019, 08:49:00 AM »
Good morning, I recently had to download Mach3 again to a different computer due to ethernet card issues. I have a CNC Router Parts CNC with their plug and play electronics  (because I recognize my electronic knowledge shortfalls) and have been happily milling away for the last two years.  Upon loading Mach3 on the new laptop which seemed normal and successful, the CNC would not respond to my arrow keys and the Estop was active and could not be reset by simply clicking on the button on the Mach3 screen.  I went into pins and ports and clicked on the estop active low setting which allowed the cnc to move properly using the arrow keys, but now the estop doesn't work when pushing the manual estop button.  Also, while my limit switches are powered and sense the position of the machine, they are not talking to Mach3.  Imagine my surprise when I pushed "reference all home" and the z-axis ran straight up and kept trying to run once it reached the limit switch---of course I hit the estop button only to then realize the estop wasn't working!  I've watched numerous youtube videos trying to understand what I'm doing wrong but this "electronically limited guy" isn't having any luck whatsoever.  I'm hoping someone may be able to offer some advice which will get me back on track to making more chips and dust.  Many thanks!

So you must have installed the ESS plugin, or it wouldn't work at all?

Did you install the CNCRP .xml file? You either need to do that, or manually configure all of the ports and pins.
