GALIL 413x M11Px M10Px
« on: April 23, 2019, 04:36:33 AM »
ive been trying to get M11 M10 commands to work with my galil 4133 ethernet controller. for a plasma machine,

I bought a mach 3 licence in 2017 but only am i now trying to set it up, everything working but the M10 M11 functions.

the M10 M11 commands don't even light up the LEDs on the diagnostic screen, I tried it on several computers, the only computer is worked on was an old xp computer that still had a LTP printer port. (when i disabled the LPT in windows device manager the LEDs didn't light up either (I gather its not going to work with my current setup, ive been trying for 2 full days with no joy (am i missing something)

I cant use a dummy galil axis as I have none spare,

I tried to set up a dummy axis and assign the direction pin (in ports and pins) to one of the output in on the galil, that didn't work either.

will the M10 M11 commands work in mach 4 with the new galil plugin.

I need 2 outputs controlled simultaneously with motion, 1 to shutoff the plasma and the other to give hold commands to the external torch height controller (Pricecnc THC.) this is so i can play with the setting to get the perfect cut.

wondering if its possible to write a post processor for Sheetcam that outputs galil commands i could upload direct to the controller given it is only 2d cutting (or is this just crazy)

any thoughts, im feeling very inexperienced.

I don't think the 4133 plugin supports the M11/M10 command set - perhaps contact Galil directly and ask the question.

Mach4 uses the M62/M63 command set - again you would have to check with Galil to see if their plugin supports these commands.

Tweakie.

No, the Galil plugin does NOT support M10/M11 in Mach 3.

M62/M63 in Mach 4 is supported in the Mach4 Galil plugin somewhat.  What I mean by that is that the output fires immediately when received by the plugin.  But the motion attached to it will be executed buffer depth milliseconds later.  This may not make much of a difference to you if say you had a buffer of 50 milliseconds or less.  Because 50 milliseconds is pretty much instantaneous to humans.  And 50 milliseconds probalbly isn't going to make much of a difference in a plasma application either.
