Mach3/ problem with DM860A driver and NVUM controller.
« on: March 24, 2019, 09:55:10 AM »
Hello to all.

I have a problem with connecting the DM860A driver to the NVUM controler.
http://www.longs-motor.com/stepper-motor-driver-dm860a.html
https://www.nvcnc.net/pdf/NVCNC_NVUM_N.pdf
I wired them according the wiring diagram provided by the manufactors but I can’t get it to work.
The com+ from the NVUM Goes to the PUL+ and the DIR+ at the driver
The CPX- goes to the PUL-
The DIX- hoest to the DIR-
The NVUM did work before in combination with a MD430 driver but that driver was to weak to keep for the upgrade from 270 oz nema 23 steppermotor to 1232 oz nema 34 motor.
In the dro the screen says it is moving but it does not move in real time.
The motor is giving holding torque.

At mach3 side it has the NVUM plug-in installed.
I didn’t change any settings in the configuration.

Please Some help

i think you have to wire then enbl Signal as well.

even the Manual say's it Needs not to be connected.

have you checked pul/dir signals with Voltmeter?

anything is possible, just try it.
if you find some mistakes, in my bad bavarian english, they are yours.

for a quick test you can disconnect the dix- wire from NVUM and hold it to GND on the NVUM everytime you put it to gnd the Motor must do
one step.
