Issues getting Stepper Motors to move with Pokeys57CNC

(1/1)

alton.carroll:
Okay...I am not a newbie to CNC machines, but I am new to PoKeys and Mach4. I also opted to buy Polabs stepper drivers because they were Ic2 capable. Here is my configuration followed by my issue.

Controller: Pokeys57CNC
Stepper Driver: Postep60-256
Software: Mach4 (V4.2.0.3804) Pokey Plugin (V8.49.0.3813)
Power Supply: 24v (Controller Board) 36v (Stepper Drivers)
Spindle: 1.5Kw (Hyoung 120v Inverter)

Stepper Motors:
    X-Axis: Nema 24 / 425oz
    Y-Axis: Nema 24 / 425oz
    Z-Axis: Nema 24 / 425oz

Home / Axis- Switch:
    X-Axis: NO Mechanical
    Y-Axis: NO Mechanical
    Z-Axis: NO Mechanical

Limit / Axis+ Switch:
    X-Axis: None
    Y-Axis: None
    Z-Axis: None

What I have done so far...

On my first run I used Pokeys configuration and used the limit switch wizard to set the inputs; closed Mach4.

I opened each Postep60 driver with the software and set-up the driver, and ran them via the software, so I know that they are wired properly.

I restarted Mach4 and opened Pokeys plugin and inverted E-stop in Pokeys Plugin.

All seems well when I jog the axis (DRO moves), but the motors will not move. There are no warnings or limits activated.

Any ideas where I go from here?

I got it fixed...this forum is great didn't even need a reply to get the answer.

Just in case you are having the same problem...

1. Check ribbon connectors
2. Try to invert the enable output in Mach4

Thanks for posting your fix. It will help somebody in the future.
