Discrepency in movement depending on direction.
« on: July 18, 2007, 03:03:10 PM »
Hi I'm very new here and new to CNC in general.  I'm setting up Mach 3 right now on a machine that had a previously installed version of Master 5.  Master 5 runs just fine on the machine.  When we go to setup Mach 3 we are finding that in all axis's the motors travel farther in one direction than another.  For instance If I set up the machine to jog one increment of 1 inch in (+x) it will move that distance. When I then go and have it move back 1 increment in the (-x) direction it only moves 3/4 of an inch and the motor actually sounds different (rather chunky).  As I mentioned this is not a problem with Master 5.  The stepper motors are mycom model f468-02b.  If that offers any help.  I'd love to hear any feed back on this as I can't find it covered in the FAQ's or on the forum.

Thanks,

Mark

What have you got set in your motor tuning?

Graham.
