Mach 4
« on: March 24, 2006, 02:23:53 PM »
My Grex is up and running but...Jog mode "step" is not.
In the "Settings" page tab, Axis calibration button, I can tell it to move 1", .1", .01", and .001" or anything within reason.
Why can't Jog mode "step" be made useable.

I don't think that Step mode has been coded...

Yes, me too, it doesn’t work .
The worst thing  for this beta version for me it’s that the in the jog mode the accelerate and decelerate movements not works ever, some times do an exact stop instead decelerate the move.

Another suggestion for the future it’s that  and I would  like to use more than a second to decelerate the movement of one of my axes. In this beta version I can’t put more than 1 second.

Sorry for my English

I would think it should be working in about 4 weeks or so... IT could be longer as it is not at the top of the list.

I decided  not continuing testing mach4 until the next version. I think it’s dangerous for the machine.

The worst bug it’s that about 20min o 60min working well, mach4 goes crazy. That’s the result on my machine Gcode gives : Y668.613 Z-6.209 and Mach4 it’s doing Y-334.8    Z179.35
No sense.

Just a reminder, that Mach4 is currently an Alpha version at this stage.

Alpha means there are many known bugs and the programming is not yet finished.
Beta means the program is finished but hasnt been tested for any length of time by the general users and fixes will be made during that stage.
RC ( Release cantidate) means the program has been deemed fit as a stable version and has been through the beta stage for a long enough period of tiime to render it stable for general use.

The only reason there is an Alpha version avaiilable is to give current Rex users, a taste of things to come..
