New member here.

Just bought my first machine and I'm super excited to get into CNCing!!

I was warned not to, but I bought one of the infamous Chinese machines (I live there after all).
The machine is set up and running (not without a bit of struggle off course) but I have many many questions...

I'm steadily working my way through previous threads on here, because it seems that all the problems with Chinese products have been experienced countless times before.

First thing I want to clarify though is my Mach3 license.
I'm pretty sure I have a pirated copy - the well mentioned "MaoA˜A ¯Ðtonar"

My question is: how do I fix this?
When I buy a new license from the Mach3 website, will I get a Mach1Lic.dat file and then simply replace the existing one, or will it be a bit more complicated?

Many more questions to come, but I figure step one would be to pay my dues first

Welcome to the forum.

The "MaoA˜A ¯Ðtonar" is indeed a Pirate License - a genuine license can be obtained directly from Artsoft :  http://www.machsupport.com/shop/mach3/

Not sure which version of Mach3 you are using but...
By popular opinion the recommended version is R3.043.062 and it can be downloaded from here : ftp://anonymous:guest@ftp.machsupport.com/Mach3/Mach3Version3.043.062.exe

And here's something I started throwing together today that the 6040 will sit on.

You see, it currently sits on the dining table, and for reasons beyond me,  my wife has a problem with that

I love it when woodworkers say "I threw it together..." and show a picture of a perfectly good coffee table with hidden joints and all that

I just can't get on with wood, it only exists to torment me
