tool path problems?

hello all,
I just got a Chinese 3040 engraver/mill. I hook everything up, installed reg.copy of Mach 3 and imputed my g-code. however once I started running the program it would air trace the picture, and cut when it was moving to the next cut location, then rise out of the stock and start air tracing again. Im at a loss with this. If anyone can point me in the right direction great
Thanks for your time,
Eric

Hi,
sounds like your Z axis is going up instead of down. Try reversing the direction of the Z axis in Ports & Pins.
