MasterCAM and Mach3
« on: November 02, 2020, 08:22:52 AM »
I am new on the forum first of all.  I am a HS woodworking instructor who just received a brand new Industrial CNC router.  We are running MasterCAM 2019 and I am hoping someone on the forum would have a Machine definition file and post.  I tried one but I am getting crazy arcs on I and J arcs.  Any help would be much appreciated!

If your toolpath is displaying the 'crop circles' then change the IJ Mode (Config / General Config).

Ideally all Gcode files using arcs should contain the G90.1 /G91.1 as appropriate.

Tweakie.

Thanks for the reply Tweakie.  I don't have an option in System Configuration to change the I and J.  I may be looking in the wrong location but as far as I know this is all.  Remember I am new to this!

You should look in Mach3 General settings:
Make no mistake between my personality and my attitude.
My personality is who I am.
My attitude depends on who you are.

Thank you ZASto and Tweakie!  That was the problem.  I had a chance to work on it after school today and all is good.  Cut an engraving toolpath with no problems.
