Been using Mach3 for a few years to run a CNC router. The PC died a few day ago. Sourced a replacement, loaded it up with a fresh install of XP and Mach3. Using a PCI parallel card, the same card as was in the earlier machine. Had a back of the config file, loaded it into Mach3. Took awhile to get the parallel address figured out and now all axis motors are moving.
However they move very "jerky".
https://vimeo.com/242486792. The best setting I can find is to put the "kernel" speed at 25000, anything higher and it gets worse, to the point of clearly missing steps/stalling the motors. When I run "driver test" it seems to be fine up to 60000.
Any thoughts on what to try?
Thanks, Rick
