Mach3 with Windows XP
« on: January 23, 2018, 07:03:20 AM »
Hi
I finally have got my (2 years old or more) parallel port breakout board up running.
I am testing from an old Dell PC with Windows XP (not updated, don't know if I can yet!). But the drivers are just updated.
Problem is, that the board is working ok by toggling pins manuallly with Parmon parallel port tester.
But when running from Mach3 (just reinstalled), the direction pin is working, but no step pulses (tested with oscilloscope).

1. Mach3 driver is installed.
2. Specialdriver.bat tried.
3. Motor tuning adjusted to low speed.
4. DriverTest often shows Pulsing too fast (what happens if so?), but sometimes its ok.

I understand, that old Windows XP have a bug, cut that be the case?
I suppose it might has something to do with the interupt control?
Any good ideas???

It is a 32 bit version of XP?  and yes it should have Service Pak3 installed.  My old Lenovo T43 with XP works fine, It was too slow with the parallel port but it worked.  I later upgraded to the UC400 ETH Ethernet controller however.
