Mach4 V3390 now officially released
« on: May 24, 2017, 04:16:30 PM »
Rufi,
Not sure if the New Production version of V3390 differs from the test version, I will test it after we complete our mill work.
Regards,
Mauri.

How does your axis home in this new version?
I'm getting my machine setup and when it homes the axis, it hits the switch but does not back off of it.  And I'm having issues with my Spindle (0-10V).  I want to go back a version and see if it helps.  I've got a machine running on the 2.2333 or whatever version it is, it is working very well.

I figured out my problem.  I fixed it on Build 3233 and not 3390, but i'm sure this was the fix.  In the HiCON Configuration, (Newest plugin as of 6/7/17) there is a "back off feedrate" for homing in all of the Motor Tabs.  Put anything besides 0 in there.  This fixed my problem.

On another note.  In the 3390 build, the increment jogging isn't working properly.  It only moves the X Axis.

Cbyrdtopper,
We have been running V3390 in Dev and since its Production release.
We have not homed this version so we cannot advise if you have an issue, however prior Dev versions and V3233 worked OK.
There is no issue with the spindle on V3390 each machining process has worked fine to start, set the speed and stop the spindle.
We have been machining on our Mill from roughing to finishing cuts lasting over 12 hours per run.
The only issue which has come up is it sometimes produces a Buffer Mismatch, but this was more prominent on prior versions.
We have been provided with a fix for this and are waiting for a machining period to try it.
V3233 had a lot of bugs, so I would stick to V3390.
Regards,
Mauri.

Cbyrdtopper,
We increment fine with V3390 using all forms of movement including MPG and MDI on all axis.
We only use a minimum of .01mm.
You must not have correct settings.

Mauri.

Mauri, thanks for getting back.

I've tried the increment again, and it still has a bug on my end.  Attached a screenshot of the Keyboard Plugin Config Screen.  The increments are set correctly, for example CNTL + PageUP/PageDOWN is set to increment the Z Axis.  When I push  CNTL + PageUP/PageDOWN it moves the X Axis.  Same on Y

and A, only the X Axis is moving.

The Buttons on the jogging tab are working fine.  They increment properly.

I'm sure the homing on 3390 is working properly, like I said, the newest plugin for the HiCON has a new DRO for BackOff Feedrate.

Cbyrdtopper,
I have never used they keyboard and actually remove the Plugins for it.
If there is an issue it is not related to HiCON, but purely that Keyboard plugin.
You may want to post this issue on the normal Mach4 forum.

Mauri.

Mauri,
I have informed Mach Support about the issue.  I assume it is a Mach issue as well.
Just curious, how do you have your machines set up without a keyboard.  Just strictly buttons on the control panel?

Cbyrdtopper,
I use the Control buttons on Mach4 Screen set and a duplicate set on our Controller.
Plus the MPG connected to the HiCON.

Mauri.
