New to mach3
« on: March 21, 2017, 02:50:17 PM »
I have the demo version of mach3 loaded on my computer. I know the limitations, but can I import dxf files without another software like Vectric, I'm trying to learn this thing on the fly with tutorials. Help please

Not as far as i know, you need to get CAM to get it into G-Code first.

Maybe try SheetCam which is very good, Vectric Aspire is great, Fusion360 is complex but good as well as others.

I used LazyCam to learn and I find it an excellent software to learn. There is also a very good manual on how to use it (I think its part of the Mach3 install, select install lazycam)

Hi,
another great way to make usable Gcode and see how a program works is to use the Wizards  that ship with Mach3.
Try some of the pocketing ones...they generate code that you can run and simple enuf to work out how the Gcode works.
