Fusion360 Post processor for Mach4
« on: January 04, 2017, 09:29:59 PM »
I am using Fusion360 to generate gcode for a Mach4 basic xyz mill. When selecting a post processor to generage the gcode there is no selection for Mach4 within Fusin360...there is one for Mach3. The question is what would be the BEST processor to choose for Mach4  OR is there a post processor in a app that can be added to fusion360 for specfically for Mach4?  Any info would be helpful. Thanks Keith.

Mach3 is fine for the post, if you are not sure just run it in sim on another computer then do a dry run on the machine, the bog standard fanuc post works fine as well.

Mach 4 is more Fanuc compatible than Mach 3.  Patterned after a 21i.  Cutter comp memory type C.  For regular XYZ programs, the Mach 3 post is probably adequate.  If not, start looking through the Fanuc posts.

Lathe/Turn is where the more major differences from Mach 3 are.  Specifically G76 threading.  Mach 4 accepts both Fanuc G76 1 line and two line formats.

most of the fusion post are derived from the haas post and have to be adjusted to work the fanuc way of doing stuff if they are fanuc based

Thank you very much for the information. The Mach3 post seems to be working. Will keep my eyes open if a specific Mach4 processor comes out.
