mach3 command line parameters
« on: November 12, 2016, 07:39:00 AM »
I know that I can use /p to select the profile I'm starting with
(thanks to this post https://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=10421.0)

like for example:
> c:\mach3\mach3.exe /p smoothstepper

my question is, what other "parameters" are there?
is there somewhere i can find a "list" of them?

thanks for the trouble.

I have started a document to address your question to be inclusive of what has been posted over time on parameters.

That said,

I can create a thread so others can review it and comment and after updating  put it into Members Doc's.

Hey Rich,  I may have misunderstood the original question and forgive me if I have, but I believe the OP was asking about command-line parameters to start the Mach3 program, not the g-code program itself.  In the post, he gives the example:

> c:\mach3\mach3.exe /p smoothstepper

This would start the program with a profile called "smoothstepper".  Are there other command-line switches such as this?  I'm curious to know about them as well.

That said, I love the document you've produced.  It's very informative.  I just wish I had the creativity to understand how I might use parameters in my code, but I am simply using a CAD program to create my g-code files.

Thanks,
Highspeed1964

I don't know.
That's why I have asked for comments. and also tried to define parameter and variable.
Not sure what  the document will include in the end. It will not be a how to do on scripting.

I'll waite for user comments and go from there.
