CSS Mach4 lathe Metric
« on: August 08, 2016, 04:03:11 AM »
Seems that the surface speed in Lathe is in mm/min rather than the normal m/min.
I have looked but can not see where it can be changed, anyone know?

Well I can not find it and looks like no one else knows. It may be that it is internal to Mach and can't be changed by the operator.
Strange that Imperial units seem correct at ft/min yet metric are incorrect at mm/min rather than m/min.

I was actually wrong with thinking CSS is in mm, it is actually cm. If you want 200m/min you have to enter 20,000.

Also RPM seems to be wrong in CSS, for example
200m/min 66mm dia and Mach has 1157rpm, should be 965rpm
200m/min 62mm dia and Mach has 1232rpm  should be 1027mm

Don't know if CSS is correct in Imperial units, anyone tried it?

Have run some tests at different surface speeds and it seems Mach is adding 20% to the surface speeds, for example, command 70m/min (or 7,000 in Mach) and you get the rpm for 84m/min.
