Question about Motortuning
« on: August 10, 2016, 04:07:05 AM »
Hello,
I have a problem with Motortuning. When I change the pulselength from step and direction to 5 µS, save the axissetings, close the motortuning and reopen the motortuning the display shows 0 µS. I test it sometimes. What do I wrong? Is there an other way to change the pulselength? I use WinXp.

Thanks

Hans

Why do you need to change?

Are you using a motion controller or the parallel port driver - many motion controllers will not use the pulse length settings.

Hi,
I use an external CNC-Controller. My stepperdrives needs a pulselength for step and direction from 25µS.

Which controller, i'm sure someone here has would have used a similar unit, any details?

25us seems long, even my cheap drives use pulse lengths from 1-5us ok

Hello to All CNC masters.
I am Aziz from UAE. just recently i assembled my CNC plasma Cutter,
Started  to Mach3 set up process,  but couldnt manage motor tuning, almost 2 days trying to figure out but no result,
Checked all wiring, seems all OK.
But motors moution is noisy and not smooth.  Unregular Sounds also,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmG-6-vaL14
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMOcU-Bip_Y

I could not archive higher speed than thi vedio, its a smoothest motor tuning  pulse/revolution that I managed to set up.
Calling axes to home speed also not enough high, and
All  motors are set up on 30 volts and 3.2 Ampere.
Pulse/ revolution is 1600   so 1 step is 0.225 degree.
If I set more smaller degree motor movement is getting more and more slow, even if it gets better smoother,

Motors are choosen as per advised by Mechmate plama plan.
This above vidoe is taken when all set up was done MAX CL Enabled mode .

If I remove that, after setting up, all of my motors are not working properly,  drawing things incorrectly, even if i make calibration many times all of axes. losing steps. I changed pulse/ rev also to all of revolutions , But no result,

Is it must to remove click from MAX CL Enabled mode  on Mach3 Config/ Pin and Port?
Please help if anyone has a similar experience,

HI,

first thing i can suggest is to start a new thread for your problem, you will get better/more replies that way without upsetting the existing thread.

Next i would check the pulse length setting, maybe increase it a little, maybe try reversing the setting for "step low active" in ports and pins.
