Mach4 not Seeing ESS
« on: March 18, 2016, 08:19:42 AM »
Hi once again,

Mach4 was working ok, but then shut down GUI not responding and now the Ess doesn't appear in the configuration list.

I've uninstalled a couple of times and re- installed the latest and previous builds of Mach4 with no joy.

The computer is communicating ok with the Ess after running the configuration utility from Warp9 and everything was fine until Windows shut Mach down.

Any suggestions please.

Windows 10 Home 64 bit

Nick.

In the Mach4Mill \ Backups folder see if you have an Machine.ini file which is dated before the bad shutdown - if you have then try using that and see if it resolves the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion Tweakie.
I had another go this morning, uninstalled Mach and ESS, then downloaded and installed them both again. Now ran up to a point.
Finally figured out my problem was with the "wxMach" screen set, causing Windows to close Mach4 down as soon as I went to configure the Mach Inputs (from the ESS). Now using "wx4" screen set and so far it seems O.K.

Frustrating, but I'll get there in the end.
