« on: August 01, 2014, 08:17:45 AM »
when I got my cnc it came with one of these touch probes -

ive never used it and now want to, but I know nothing about it and have no instructions.

its got 3 wires, red blue and black. any tips on how to connect up?

im running mach std mill and I believe it just works with that, no extra software needed.

managed to find where the probe is from and get it wired in

http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/product_info.php?cPath=69&products_id=323

its working as the red led on the side lights up when the probe is touched.

struggling with MSM setup, watching the videos there is ever video going but how to actually set it up. do I need to activate the probe in msm? ive set the port and pins up in mach3

Andy,

That particular probe is originally from Wildhorse Innovations (http://www.wildhorse-innovations.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=80). It has been distributed world wide through a number of dealers and private labels. It has also been copied a number of times.

You can find more information, including alignment instructions at http://www.wildhorse-innovations.com/index.php?_a=viewDoc&docId=6.

so I have a new tormach passive probe wired into my pmdx board and the above probe ive turned into a touch plate for tools.

whats the best way to wire these two in?

can you have them both in the same input or do they need to be separate?

Actually I think it was Arnie Minear's probe, marketed for a while by Wildhorse. He is a user here named Zarzul.
