Mach 4 not seeing inputs! Help!
« on: January 01, 2016, 02:46:48 PM »
I have a converted Bridgeport mill running servos, a smoothstepper and Mach 4. Everything functions as it should, except I can not get ANY inputs into mach 4. ( I have been cutting parts with the machine, but I'm gonna break it with no limits or estop!!.) Is there some sort of secret jumper or something like that, that needs to be done to allow smoothstepper to send a signal to mach 4? I have set up the config for both ESS and mach and all looks like it should, but nothing happens when I trip the switch. I have tried to set up a estop, a limit switch, a home switch...... It has to be some sort of stupid mistake on my part, but after hour after hour of trying to figure it out I am at the end of my rope.....

 Thanks for ANY suggestions!!

Do you use a Optokoppler with your boards?

It's always something silly....   the jumper on the smoothstepper board that provides power to the switches had fallen off somewhere in the mounting process...  I had been banging my head for a couple days trying to figure it out....   Thanks for the response anyways!
