CSMIO/IP-S vs Panasonic Minas A5

Gents,

I'm replacing NC controller of Plasma Pipe cutting machine with CSMIO/IP-S, the issue is I can't make the motors moving!

My Panasonic Servo drives Model :

MCDHT3520                           0.75KW
MEDHT7364                           2KW

Mach3 configuration has been sat, I have motor shaft lock, I have, the servo drives and motors were running fine with my old NC, the Servo display [r 0], I have replaced the STEP/DIR cable, even I m getting [SERVO READY] output signal from the drive to CSMIO controller, but still I can't JOG the axis!

It seems I have a problem with setting the correct parameters to have the Servo drive communicate with CSMIO/IP-S.

here is the table of the Panasonic servo drive before and after the changes I have made but still I can’t move the axis:

Please keep In mind this servo drive was used with NC control machine with touch screen, so the default Parameters were sat for NC type.

Recently I had a similar problem while retrofitting my water jet machine with also CSMIO/IP-S + DELTA servo, and thanks to TPS I have found the correct parameters [P1-00=1042], and abracadabra my project has been saved by a knight!

I hope someone can point out where I'm doing wrong, and what parameters, configuration I should use, since I have spent few days scratching my head & waiting for CS lab!

i think

Pr0.06 --> 1
Pr0.07 --> 3

or

Pr0.06 --> 0
Pr0.07 --> 3

should be ok.

I shell try these parameters tomorrow and give the feedback.

However, there are few updates,
last night as disparate act, I have created a new Mach3 profile, and surprisingly the Servo Drives somehow worked for few seconds with the following issues:

1-Servo motor was moving way too fast.
2-Servo motor was moving in one direction only regardless what command sent by Mach3 (X+, X-).
3-Servo motor Error 160 (Over-load Protection), and / or Error 260 (Over-Speed Protection) occurred shortly after RESET the Mach3 or JOG the motor.

Please refer to the manual Page 6.4 [When in Trouble] for details of error code.

TPS, does the above make sense to you and back up your suggested parameters?

Just had a quick look but Pr0.08, 0.09 and 0.10 caught my eye
Not sure why it is set that way but from first looks I would set Pr0.08 as the count of your encoders, possibly 2500?
That would I think disable the electronic gearing which I presume you are not really wanting?

@TPS,
1- your parameters worked! Super.. Super!
Pr0.06 --> 1
Pr0.07 --> 3

2- As for the Error 160 (Over-load Protection), and Error 260 (Over-Speed Protection), I found out that due to a diagram mistake I disabled the wrong servo motor break relay!
Now, problem solved.

@Hood,
3-I've used your parameters
Pr0.08 --> 2500
The axis speed movement improved, check out the attached photo, but still the axis speed slider almost at the bottom, is that normal? I even lowered the speed down to 2000 mm/min.

Important @TPS + Hood,

4- I have used [set step per unit] function of mach3 setting to find out the step/dir for both X and Z axis, now I have no Idea how to find step/dir and converted to degrees for the rotary axis A!!

Is there any way similar to [set step per unit] function of mach3 setting to calibrate my rotary (A) axis?
Pls check the attached photo of the gear name plate where the rotary axis (A) servo motor connected, can you see any useful info would help in axis (A) calibration?

will send the photos next.

Nice  looking machine :)

Regarding the rotary axis, you simply have to take into account any gearing and the encoders resolution then divide by 360 to get the steps per degree.

example

Motor encoder 2500 line (10,00 pulses per rev)
Gearing of 2:1

10,000 x 2 /360 = 55.5555555556 steps per degree.
