PC not booting with iMach P2-S pendant pluged in
« on: October 18, 2015, 12:39:48 PM »
Hello,
I am running Mach 3 with USB smooth stepper on a Asus VM-60 PC.  If I have my iMach P2-S pendant  http://www.vistacnc.com/b08_pendant_P2/pendant_p2-S.htm  plugged into a USB port  the PC will hang up at the BIOS screen.  If I unplug it the PC will boot.  I have updated to the latest BIOS, no help.  I have had to reinstall Windows 8 once on the PC and I am not sure if it is related to this problem.
Thanks for any help,
Todd

Make sure in the bios, the PC is not set to boot to a USB device first.

Thanks Gerry,
I think that worked.
One more quick question for you.
I reinstalled windows 8 on a new SSD hard drive after my Win8 crash.  I do have access to the old hard drive files but I did not export my JointCam set up ???.  Did not think it would crash so soon.  Are the settings stored in a single file that I can pull off the old hard drive  or should I just set  joint cam up again?
Thanks again,
Todd

There are several settings files, one fore each joint and a general settings for g-code and machine settings.

On a Windows 8 machine, they are saved under \Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\JointCAM\1.0\Config.

On the new machine, go the the Configuration page, and click the Settings Files button, and it will take you to the Config folder. Open that up, then close JointCAM, then copy the old files into the Config folder. When you restart JointCAM, you should be all set up.
