Mach3 connect to RAMPS 1.4
« on: October 07, 2015, 11:58:43 AM »
Hello everyone. I tried googling to find information on how to connect Mach3 to my RAMPS CNC machine but I cound't find nothing, which lead me to think it's pretty easy, but still, cound't make it.

What I did so far was setting up in "General Settings" the port to 6 and baudrate to 115200 which is the port created by RAMPS. I can connect to the board with for example, Universal G-Code Sender, so the board is working well.

Could you please give me a hand on this?

Thank you!
Pablo

Mach3 uses the serial port for communication to external devices and the parallel port to control motion via a BOB & stepper drivers, USB and Ethernet motion controllers require a plugin from their manufacturer.
Are you trying to get motion control data out of the serial port?

Hi,

if you use RAMPS 1.4 with the Arduiono software,
you only need "universal g code sender" (google for it).

Thomas
anything is possible, just try to do it.
if you find some mistakes, in my bad bavarian english, they are yours.
