logic for a lathe turret
« on: August 23, 2015, 07:07:11 PM »
I'm working on converting an old Hardinge HC lathe. It has a mechanically indexed 8 position turret on it. I somehow need to develop some logic so that mach3 can verify that the turret is in the correct position. I thought about having a camera that looks at the numbers engraved on the turret base but i have no idea what to do with that. Also thought about multiple prox switches as a position confirmation but that would get messy to mount and wire. They wouldn't be very well protected. Anyone have any ideas how to accomplish this?
