Probing Z for Zero and tool tables making my hair catch fire
« on: August 22, 2015, 12:34:12 AM »
Hi all,
I have set my tool tables for positive lengths for my Tormach style tool holders from the mating surface of the spindle to the tip of the tool including my electronic digitizing probe.

I am using Hoss 1024 probing set

When I select my tool number of the probe and zero from the Offset and Probing Tab, the machine touches off then raises the probe length (from the table) plus 1 " and sets Z to +1

If I then enter probe length plus 1  into the Z DRO and hit enter all my tools are dialed in.

It just doesn't seam like I should have to do this, what in the heck am I missing

Loosing hair to fire in Portland Oregon
Any assistance would be greatfull

I would speak to Hoss if you are using HIS routines. He knows exactly how they work and how to fix it for your application. Everyone does it differently is seems (;-)
