Reverse running?
« on: May 13, 2015, 08:31:19 PM »
Hi all

How easy is to back track on my gcode tool path?

My system is a Mach3 controlled quilting machine, sometimes the tread will break part way through a tool path which means I have to stop the machine and re-thread it then take it back to the zero start point and re-run the tool path.

Would be nice to hit the stop button the second the tread breaks then back track the tool path to restart just before where the tread broke. Would I use feed stop or feed hold? Feed hold seems a bit slow to react....

Thanks for your thoughts.

Sounds like you need to experiment with run from here. You find your place in the code then click run from here, could be tricky if it's a lot of lines though.
It's also a bit fiddly to use at first, i can never quite remember how it works each time so I have to take myself slowly through the process, but I've used it a few times after breaking a cutter or some other problem.
