Lights out machining
« on: March 08, 2015, 08:53:47 PM »
What's everybody doing for light out machining? I was wondering if it would be wise to set my main power for my Gecko g540 on a SSR and call out M2 with a count down at the end so that on program's that run untended my machine will power itself down. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your time.

At work I run lights out all the time I guess it's a habitat I can't brake Mach4 has only froze up on me once so I guess there's nothing to worry about. Some of these projects run for a while.

well........ if your brave enough.....

You could set up a "Timer" in your PLC script that watches for a User Made LED on your machines run screen.
Then in your M2 or M30 or what ever... when that script runs have it "Turn On" that User LED.
the PLC script will be watching for it to turn on, when it does you could have a wxTimer run for what ever amount of time (if any at all),
that when it timed out, it would Turn OFF your Output that enables your Geckos....

There could be many ways to skin this cat.
