Proxxon FF500 cnc setup for Mach3 help
« on: March 10, 2015, 04:39:23 PM »
I have a 3040 cnc which works great with Mach 3.
I also have a Proxxon FF500 which is extremely accurate but came with NCCAD8, which is an absolute pile of rubbish, to the point of being unusable!

I tried to get Mach3 to run the Proxxon but...nothing!
I have contacted Proxxon but sadly not received any reply
Any ideas chaps?

I may be wrong but it is my understanding that the FF500 controller uses RS232 serial communication with the PC. That being the case it would probably be easier to just substitute the controller with one that has either Parallel port, USB or ethernet communication with the PC. Please be aware that some of the Chinese 'all in one' controller boards are dire but others can perform extremely well (some internet research before purchase may be good).

Hope this helps.
