Mach3 -> Galil 2142 -> Routenstein w/servo motors

So I realize one day that I have enough parts from other machines to build a router.. yippee!  I put it all together and have been successful all the way to you getting it to properly home..  cutting air is on the horizon..
I have a single switch on each axis and am using it as a home switch for that axis.  They were already mounted nicely so I left them be - the X and Y ended up with the home switch on the high-side of the travel. in other words, as you're facing the machine, the X home is on the right and the Y home is at the back.  Of course, I want zero to be at the lower left.
I set the home offsets for X and Y to each be 24, expecting that when the machine was commanded to go to X0 and Y0 it would truck on down to the opposite corner.  Alas, it stays right where it is. Obviously, despite the DROs happily telling me 24.0000, the machine still considers itself at 0.0000

Can anyone tell m what I must do here?

Try the Home Neg option in Config > Homing/Limits.

ya, to do that I'd have to physically move the home switches to the lower left - I'm trying to avoid doing that.

I tried using the home offset, setting them both to 24.  The DRO will now display that it's at 24 when it homes, but the machine still acts like it's at zero and running a program makes it head off past the home switches and crashes to the end.

so the DRO shows 24 when homed, what happens when you tell it to 'go to home' ??

Ya!  me too!    but it just stays put - as if it is ignoring the DRO.

are you certain the machine coordinates are being zeroed when homing??

Yes.  What I'd *like* is a way to tell the machine when it's homed, it's at X24 Y24.   Not a big deal if I was writing Galil , Labview, C++ code..  I just don't know how to enable this in Mach...

You're right!  that is a daft question 

If I did that, then the machine wins..   I can't let that happen.   There must be a way.....

Some days you just have to give in to the machine.......
