It's the 'Message Icon' Fred - there are various options and just for demonstration this message has been posted with a smiley.

Thanks tweakie- so how did you do that?

For that matter how do you put one of these smileys into your letter??

By the way I like your avatar-- Do you like cats?
A stray cay has just had 3 kittens in the bottom of our garden
If you are nearby you can come and collect them - but they are
as wild as blazes

Hi Fred,

When you make a post (assuming you use the reply button) or when posting a new topic - there is a box which says 'Message Icon'. The usual icon is 'General' but if you click the arrow you can choose the icon that best suits your topic.

I have a small dog at the moment who really does not like cats (pretty much the usual with small dogs) so I have no cat at this time but I still have a soft spot for cats, thus the avatar.

Fred get some food down there at regular intervals and they will get used to you.  In my yard and units i have a few wild cats that i feed regularly, and i have no rats or mice.
