CNC moves center during cycle to the left on X axis
« on: January 08, 2015, 11:57:16 AM »
Hi, we have a old Bridgeport milling machine with a Mach3 control. Since five weeks we have a very heavy problem, I will explain it with the following example: We made a sample rectangular of 2" x 6". The first four cycles the milling machine made them normally, after that she started to move the center on the X axis on the left, after two cycles we have had just a movement of more than 1 mm to the left side. With every cycle she moves center a little bit more to the left. Someone knows this problem and has a solution? Thanks Veit

Reduce the Acceleration and Velocity by maybe 20% for the X axis and see if that helps. Also check that the axis is lubricated and not binding.
If it is the original sigma steppers they may be slowly loosing performance due to age.

Hi thanks for the answer, we checked all this stuffs - we are just working with 15% on the X axis.

Is it the original sigma motors?
If it is then it could well be they are losing their performance. You could try swapping one from the Y to X and see.

We have done it like this but the motors are ok, the run fine. We are also checking the electronic part ....
